We read The Earth Book. We looked at the globe and looked at pictures of Earth from space. We painted on circles with blue and green. We also had a lot of fun playing!

This week we will be talking about Earth Day and what we can do to help protect the Earth. I'm sorry if your kids lecture you about water usage or turning off the lights this week! We reused paper towel tubes to create art. Our VIP shared his poster and his daddy read 1 of his favorite books. Thank you so much for coming!
Friday we read The Dot and decorated our own dot.
At the beggining of the school year, we have a lot of kids tell us they can't do art. But by this time in the school year I am very proud of where my kiddos are at expressing themselves through their artwork and their confidence in using all the different art materials. 95% of our table activities are process art instead of product art. Product art is that cute little cookie cutter art where all of the kiddos looks the same and looks like the teacher did most of the work. Well, it looks like that because they did. While product art may be cute, I like the kiddos to express their own creativity. We put materials in front of them and they are able to create something beautiful! And the best part is they did it all on their own! This builds their self esteem and creates well rounded, free thinking, I CAN do this students!
