We read Penguin on Vacation. Our VIP shared some of her favorite books with us. We painted with watercolor ice cubes, and enjoyed the warmer temps and playground time!

Polar Animals - The Artic

Yesterday we talked about penguins, we read Five Little Penguins Sliding On The Ice. We made penguins at the art table. I posted pictures on our Facebook page. They are beautiful and unique and one of my favorite art projects!
Today we read a book about polar animals and brought the globe out to show the children where polar animals live. For our table activities we made an artic sensory tub with water, ice, shaving cream, and polar animals. We played with "snow" play dough and polar animals. And we painted our name with white paint. We finally were able to get out on the playground this afternoon and I spied so much math going on during centers! There were kids sorting, counting, stacking, and measuring! Play is so important and learning through play is my favorite!!
