Worms and Gardens

We read Tops and Bottoms. For our table activities we painted using a rose for inspiration, planted sunflower seeds, and observed worms. No worms were hurt during this activity, but we did hear screams of delight from the kiddos! The worms that were destined to become fish food are now living happily in our strawberry patch at home. Our VIP shared her adventures with Norman, a letter from her mommy, and her daddy brought a special treat for snack time. Thank you for making her VIP week so special.

Worms and Gardens

We read Whose Garden is it? This is one of my favorite books and it was a gift from one of my preschool families in 2011. The gardener thinks it is his garden because he planted it and takes care of it, but the sun, rain, wind, soil, seeds, animals and insects think it is theirs. The kiddos all agree that they are all important to help a garden grow! We learned how a flower grows in a fun way... pictures on our Facebook page. We made art with seeds, and for breakfast we enjoyed donuts from the new donut shop thanks to Miss (Big) Emilea!

Worms and Gardens

We read Curious George Plants a Seed. We took turns naming things that grow in a garden and we named our favorite vegetable. Our VIP shared her poster. For our table activity I sat out muffin liners, cut up egg carton, green straws, green craft sticks, our scrap box, glue, scissors, hole punches, and markers for the children to create with.
