Apples

Today we had an apple taste test and voted on which was our favorite. We wrote their names on labels they voted by finding their name and then putting it under red, yellow, or green. Yellow was the winner. We cut open an apple and observed the star that the seeds made. Some of us painted with apples, some played with play dough, and some did both.

Apples

Yesterday we finger painted with our apple colors... which also happens to be the color of a stoplight and this was pointed out by 1 of our 2 year olds!! So smart Miss T ;) We also did an apple experiment to see what would keep an apple from browning the best. We labeled our cups and checked on them often. We used air, lemonade, water, salt water and vinegar. The winner was salt water, but we don't recommend it... Big Emilea tasted it and spit it out as quick as it went in!! Lemonade worked well and also tasted good! The loser was vinegar and air was a close second. It was so beautiful outside we ate our snack on the playground!

Apples

We read The Biggest Apple Ever. We made play dough red and yellow, we already had a batch of green. It was too hot to play with this morning and the weather was too nice to play with it this afternoon... but we will have apple color play dough to play with tomorrow! The Apple Market was still a very popular place!
