Polar Animals - The Artic

Our VIP shared her poster. We learned our letter of the week, X, in sign language and sang our ABC song. We wrote on the white board all of the things we know about Polar Animals, and then went to the tables to do a little snow painting; our snow paint was made by mixing shaving cream and glue together. We finished the day with a little play dough and sticker art. We welcomed a new friend today, we are so happy to have you and your family as part of our PLA family!

Frozen

Enough already with the snow days! The weather took our theme of the week seriously!! We did letter review on the dry erase board, listened to the Frozen book on CD, drew a picture with a white crayon on blue paper and then painted over it with "ice paint" (Epson salt and water). We also investigated ice/salt and colored water with droppers. The children discovered the salt melted the ice faster than the colored water. We discovered that the kiddos love playing with ice!!

Frozen

It is good to be back, but I came back to a very small class of 7! I hope this snow day gives everyone time to feel better for Thursday! I am missing my kiddos! We had a wonderful vacation celebrating mine and my best friend's 40th Birthday! We have been friends since the first day of Kindergarten, 35 years of friendship, we are now sisters I believe :) Thank you to my mom, Miss Vicki, and my daughter Big Emilea for doing such an amazing job at PLA while I was gone! Thank you to Mr. Don and Miss Jessica too for helping out!
This week our theme is Frozen. We do not have a letter of the week and we are using this week as a review week. We made icicles for our table activity. We squeezed glue on the top of our paper and then held the paper so the glue would drip down. We then covered the glue with snow glitter. The weather was great for frozen week, but I am ready to play!
