Science

We had a great week exploring science! We did color mixing experiments, explored baking soda and vinegar, and discovered some fun ways to paint. On Friday we had a special guest from the Camden County Health Department. Nurse Katy talked to the kiddos about not being a couch potato and how important it is to get up and exercise!

Father's Day

We collected, washed, and painted a rock for our Father's Day gift. When the paint dried we used puffy paint to write You Rock to make a rock paper weight. We also decorated a piece of card stock to make our cards from your little peanut complete with a bag of peanut m&ms. We had donuts for dad on Friday. Hope all of our daddies had a wonder Father's Day!

Ice Cream!!

What a fun first week of Summer Academy!! Our theme was ice cream. We read books and learned how ice cream is made, where it was first discovered and how it made its way to the United States. We talked about our favorite flavors and our favorite sundae toppings. We made puffy art ice cream, vanilla and chocolate ice cream play dough, name ice cream cones, and ice cream in a bag. We also played with our play dough a lot, and made many beautiful paintings! There was also a lot of time for play!! We also had doughnuts for snack and breakfast two different days thanks to a few of our little friends! I posted on Facebook that we welcomed a new friend this week and I also posted our ice cream in a bag recipe that we used and pictures. A fun activity to try at home this Summer!
