Bugs!

Last week we learned about bugs. We made patterns, put bugs together, made ladybug art, made "mud" with bugs in it,  painted with finger paint then folded our paper to make the same design on both sides like a butterfly, used honeycomb cereal and our fingerprints to make bee art, painted with our feet and we ate Cheetos to demonstrate how pollen sticks to insects legs while they drink nectar from flowers. We had a couple special visitors and 2 new friends join us last week.
Reminder: PLA will be closed July 25th - August 5th. We will be open the following week for needed child care and our Fall session begins on Monday, August 15th.

Camping

We had such a great camping week! We told flashlight stories by passing the flashlight around and adding to our story. We painted with the colors of a campfire, made fireflies in a jar while also practicing our cutting skills, we painted with marshmallows, made and ate s'mores, popped some poppers, and played with our new 3D sidewalk chalk! It was a fun week and we were sad to see our tent come down!

America 4th of July

This week we talked about the United States of America and celebrating our Independence! We found the United States on our globe. We then talked about how our whole class lives on Earth,  in the USA, and in Missouri... but we don't all necessarily live in the same town.  We made fireworks with paint and kitchen and bath scrubbers, we finger painted with red and blue glitter paint, we threw paint soaked pompoms on to a big piece of paper to make it look like fireworks, we made flag art, and finished the week with some exploding art!
