We read Groundhogs Runaway Shadow. We talked about how groundhogs hibernate and when they wake up and come out of their burrow if they see their shadow they go back to sleep for 6 more weeks of winter, but if they don't see their shadow they stay awake and we are supposed to have an early spring. We voted to see who thought Punxsutawney Phil would see his shadow in the morning and who thought he wouldn't. Yes won by 13 votes and no only received 4 votes. Watch the news in the morning and we will talk about it at Circle Time! We had so much fun playing with our shadows today!! We took turns holding up toys to see if our friends could guess what the shadow was. A new month means a new Nursery Rhyme... One Two Buckle My Shoe is our February Nursery Rhyme. We also welcomed a new friend today!
